American ingenuity shows itself again.
I don't quite understand how you can shoot the XREP (Extended Range Electronic Projectile)
and it is wireless, unlike the pistol style Tasers which have thin wires between the pistol portion
of the weapon, and the barbs in the suspect's body. I believe it just gives the subject a 20 second
burst, but I'm not clear if you can zap him multiple times with the same round.
Although the above link states that the XREP can be fired from ANY 12 gauge shotgun, they
have also developed a 12 gauge shotgun which can fire the XREP OK, but will not fire actual
12 gauge shotgun shells. That way you don't risk an ND of buck when you just wanted to
shock the subject.
