I have been having "new gun fever" for a while. I'm sure some of you know how that feels.
After reading countless reviews and talking to lots of folks about the quality and reliability, I took the plunge.

I'm the proud new owner of a Springfield XD 40 Subcompact

I have been shopping around and have seen this gun selling for as much as $ 689 new :eek6
Good old Tomball Pawn shop had them for $ 459 new.

I have cleaned and oiled it for its inaugural range secession , picked up some Federal .40 from Walmart and will
be heading to the range in the morning.

Congrats! I have a XD 9 SC and it is the bomb, it carries well and is amazingly accurate (for me) with its 3" barrel. On a side bar, it seems that .40 caliber WWB is more available than others at your local Walleyworld?

Happy shooting!

Nice choice. Good pistols. Wife and I both have one. No failures of any kind from either. I think you'll find it surprisingly accurate for a 3"er. :thumbs2:

I'll be looking forward to the range report. It's one of the pistons on my short list when I get rid of my .380's. Figured I'd trade them in at Tomball Pawn. Have you investigated the holster choices for that weapon?

Not yet , but I wouldn't mind hearing from someone with this gun on a good OWB holster. ;-)

Congrats on your new Springer, and being a good shopper (pricewise).

The last I heard you were looking at that 7 shot Taurus .357 revolver,
and had commented on the Taurus PT140 sale at Academy.

But then you throw us a curveball and spring a Springer on us!!

You know how it is. Once you start looking , your eyes wonder to other guns.

I still want to add a revolver to the collection one day. There's just something about them that I love. ;-)

Cool.

I have an XD9 and it is an extremely accurate pistol. Strangely though it is a loudest gun in our little collection...it sounds like a canon going off.

Have fun with the new boomstick. Play safe and we expect a full debrief when you return. "rlol"

I saw a Heritage Arms .22 revolver in Academy for $169. I was soooooooo tempted, but I resisted......for now.

I think the next purchase here will be another rifle....Her indoors has her heart set on a 'plinker' now I have the Henry.

Man I love that woman! "rlol"
