Pawn Shop deals!

I seriously dig working next door to a pawnshop....every now and then good deals are there to be found and had.

This morning, I wandered over there for the free coffee, lol, and to browse around and see what was being put out.

Found myself a Blackhawk SERPA holster for my XD.....**drumroll** for $5 dollars!!

Now, I can't lie, it had been modified, someone took a smooth cutting saw to it and shortened the part that covers the barrel by about a half inch or so. But, the retention was not affected (they let me go to the back area and test it with my pistol). So of course I dropped 5 big ones on it, lol.

I already have a SERPA for my XD, but, I have 2 XD's. I couldn't pass it up.

Anyone else have any good deals they've found at their local pawnshop? Let's hear em.

Since my line of work requires a lot of driving around Houston , I often whip into pawn shops to browse around.
Every once in a while you can find an item cheap because they don't realize the value.

As far as my local pawn shop...Tomball Pawn , I have purchased my last two (new) firearms there simply because they have the lowest prices around.

One other great thing about pawn shops...They have Layaway !

I have recently wandered into a few pawn shops looking for the proverbial deal. I have come up empty handed so far. I will keep looking though.

They are few and far between, but when found, they award a sense of accomplishment...victory....just a good feeling lol.

Several years ago I purchased a 2" .38 stainless Rossi for $200 TTL. It is my truck gun.

Bought my first gun from a pawn shop over on East Grand. Was a Smith and Wesson stainless .38 with a 4" barrel. Never failed me. The gentleman behind the counter even pronounced my last name correctly, which is unusual for folks that don't know my family. Browsed there a'fore I bought my .30-30. Sadly, they didn't have one. Very similar to thrift store clothes shopping. Anyone here that happened to be in the service industry in their twenties, who hung around with musicians and artists will understand. For the others, persistence is key.
