I'm 35, and have never hunted an animal. Now I geel pretty good about being able to hit and kill the deer. Really looking forward to sighting it at PSC. It's my first hunting rifle, and first time trying optics instead of iron. Now if I can find a doe!!

Which Leupold is that? I have a Leupold 4.5-14x50mm B&C on my Remington 700, and it's a great scope. The bullet drop compensator on the reticle seems to be spot on.

That said, I recently bought a fixed power Super Sniper 10x42HD for my M1A, and it has absolutely amazing clarity and light gathering for a scope with "only" a 42mm objective lens. It's a mil-dot reticle, and the adjustment knobs are mil/mil in .1mil clicks. If you're on paper, you can get zeroed in 2 shots if you learn to read the reticle.

I currently have a Leupold VX 4.5-14x50 on my A-bolt and it is NICE! I really like the Leupold's for hunting rifles.

It's a 2-7x33 rifleman. Entry level, but I was dead on for vitals at PSC on saturday. Nice scope, very impressed.

Thanks, It's a 30-30 Marlin 336. I'm a big fan of the lever actions from the shows I was raised on, always wanted one. I use the leverevolution in it and it's dead on.

Sounds like good choices on both gun and scope. You can't go wrong with a marlin 30-30, and a 2-7 leupold is a perfect match for the caliber and environment you are likely to be hunting in.

I have a number of Leupold 'scopes on my rifles and pistols, the oldest being a Vari-X II on my .30/06. (I paid $71 new for it at Gander Mountain, which should give you an idea of how long I've had it!)

From frozen Minnesota winters to summer in Texas, numerous domestic hunting trips and a couple of safaris, it's never given me any trouble whatsoever.

I like Leupolds - they're rugged as heck and perform as well as Euroscopes costing a lot more.

I know, I want to buy it! Its good looking and a good price. Its just too far away, and I got my sights on a Romanian PSL

If this is the same one you got for sale, you got a cherry of a rifle there. I'd keep it.

Well, to be honest the one I have the scope mounted on is not as pretty as the one at the top, but the scope is about to move to another 336 that has better wood.
