There's Velcro straps or clips on the back of the pouches. Because they're against the vest, the pressure helps keep the Velcro closed. From talking to a couple of troops, they don't seem to have any problem. I can't imagine it's any worse than the old clip on the web belt ammo pouches.

The D-ring is for good for lanyards, straps, and such.

The most common attachment method I am familar with is with "Molle-Lok" plastic attachments. Two sizes usually available and they commonly are screwed, riveted or glued to the item you want to attach.

See>> http://www.botachtactical.com/blmo.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have used these with some custom Kydex items I created. Presently working on something with them now actually.

Where do you pin your CHL badge on these things?

What I wore was just threaded through, up and over, alternating, and then buttoned on the end. You see it in my Avatar.

(Each item has a strap with a button on the end hanging off the back)

I just hang my Molle gear on my tractor handrails for stowing my gun, water bottle and such.

The straps on the various pouches, etc., thread through the Molle webbing. If you go over one web and under the next, when done you have lots of friction points, which help to keep things in position.
The plastc thingies make it quicker to put things together if you use them, I believe.

This: http://www.opsgear.com/category-s/342.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And This: http://www.opsgear.com/Modular-Pouches-s/46.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But a Molle Vest will not be the best option for CWW.

By far the best way to attach things to your webbing:

Molle Gear works fine. I had no problems with it outside the wire. It certainly is an improvement over the old 782 gear.
