A friend turned me on to these "covert tactical" shirts. I just got mine delivered and I have to say they're good quality.
They're running a "Buy one get one free" special on them right now, which brings their cost to just over $20 each. Just thought I'd let everyone know. It's not every day you can get a quality shirt for about $20 that's specially made for concealed carry.

I don't get it. Can't I do the same with any shirt? I looked at the website and it appears to be a regular-old shirt to me. What did I miss?

The fine print says:
Functionality- Designed for concealed carry, the 5.11 Tactical Covert Casual Shirt meets all of your needs for immediate access to a handgun without giving away the fact that you are armed and ready for duty. Our RapidDraw center placket with false exterior buttons and easy open metal snaps give you immediate access to a shoulder holster or 5.11’s own Holster Shirt. If you carry your handgun on your waist, the Covert Casual Shirt is cut a bit longer to maintain your anonymity. We’ve included breakaway bottom side vents for quick access to your sidearm when you need it. We’ve given you two concealed chest pockets, made the shirt with a moisture wicking polynosic rayon fabric and included an internal CovertMesh lining causing the shirt to drape casually over your concealed gear. This shirt truly reflects the mission of 5.11 Tactical Series. It has been designed for law enforcement professionals by law enforcement professionals.

Thanks. I only noticed the waist-carry aspect, but wondered why the guy had his hand in his shirt (Napoleon-complex?).

Yeah 5.11 stands for 5 Pockets you'll use out of the 11 provided.
Now when you sit down at a Restaurant or an office chair does it stick out or stand out? You say its heavier? Thats good, dont want the wind blowing it up for everyone to see.
I would get one, but those colors and patterns are Ugly

Like I said it is really heavy ... So much so it is uncomfortable for me. When I sit it does stick out like it always does but the bulge dosent stand out. I just posted the best pics I could of me sitting, Ignore the gut if you dont mind.

I have two of these shirts and I love them. They really help conceal for me due to the way they are cut, plus the internal pockets are great. I travelled out of the country last year and even though I obviously was not carrying, I took these shirts along. The hidden velcro pockets were great for carrying passport and cash. Really kept it away from the pick-pockets.
Most of the complaints some of the other posters have made are valid. The shirts are a bit heavier and the patterned ones don't look great, but you can get them in solids. Overall, I think they are great and that is a good price. I am going to have to get another!

I agree with Killerfly's assessment. I tried on one of these at GT Distributors in Austin and they're just too heavy for summer wear, double layer of fabric helps conceal the gun, but restricts the shirt's ability to "breathe". Probably OK for spring/fall when it's a nice 70-degree day. But once mercury settles above 85, these will be miserable for all but the most toned and in shape midsections (basically, I'd you have your own built in 6-pack to keep you cool, you'll be fine; if you're like me and carry a keg around your middle, look for something else).
But seriously, find a place to try one on before you mail order one.
