So its about time to figure out what holster I will be using with my G23. I am 5' 4" and 165 lbs. I were mostly polo shirts untucked. My shirt tails aren't very long so I am looking for a IWB. I am worried that I will not be able to conceal my Glock fully. I am thinking the 8 o' clock or 6 o' clock position.

You should have no problem with concealment. I bought a crossbreed supertuck for my G23 after reading other members reviews. Also got the belt from crossbreed. I love it!
A quality gun belt will help keep it where you want it. Search the forum for holsters and gun belts.

Galco N3, I wear it everyday with my 32 (same size as 23). Holster is very comfortable, fast, and has a metal band in the top to keep it open for 1 handed reholstering. Got mine for $70.

+1 on the Crossbreed Supertuck. My G23 conceals perfectly in it. Also have one for a Walther PPS. You won't have any problems.

If you also want a good OWB holster, I love my Bianchi 82.

I have the tucker gun leather silent thunder for my G23, great holster.

Ditto on the CrossBreed supertuck for my Glock 23. I've been wearing mine around the house while waiting on my CHL and the wife doesn't know half the time. I'm 6'2", around 215.

is there really much of a difference between the crossbreed and the mtac for the glock?

Own a Crossbreed, seriously considered the MTAC. Bought a used Crossbreed to try it out and fell in love with it.

Comp Tac has a holster almost identical to the Crossbreed, single ply leather rough edge toward skin. But also offers a two-ply leather backing that is padded (supposedly more comfortable; but I've never had any problems with comfort of my Crossbreed. )

Crossbreed offers horsehide and cowhide; not sure if Comp Tac offers horsehide, which supposedly doesn't wick sweat from your skin through to the gun as quickly/easily as cowhide. My Crossbreed is cowhide, but have an old Galco IWB that is horsehide. There is a difference, but for a Glock it's not a big deal. If I were carrying a nice 1911 or something I'd go horsehide, but then I also wouldn't use kydex at all, so YMMV.

Comp Tac has one hole in the leather and multiple holes in the belt clips to adjust the fit and cant. Crossbreed has one hole in the clips and multiple holes in the leather to accomplish same thing. I've read that some people have used Comp Tac clips on Crossbreed holsters to get even more variation.

Crossbreed clips are now metal (at least those that fit over the belt are; C clips, J clips and velcro clips are still plastic); Comp Tac clips are still plastic composite of some kind.

My guess is you really can't go wrong with either.

+1 more on the supertuck. I've had mine for glock 23 for more than a year now and it has been great!

I carried the G23 for years, and I ended up using a CompTac IWB towards the end of that era...You get used to something, and if it works for you, then I don't mess with something that isn't broke...

But then again, it is rare to not know someone in our community that doesn't have a drawer full of failed holster "ideas"...

Half the fun, and half the pain (cost), is the journey to find that "perfect" combination of gun and holster...

Are either of these holster flexible to mold around the waist? Im sure they are both stiff at first, however I there one that fits better around the waist?

Crossbreed is VERY flexible leather backing. Mine has molded around my rather large waist and upper thigh to the point that a skinnier person might have to reshape it to fit a skinnier body.

Neither of my cowhide Crossbreed's were too stiff at first. Horsehid will probably be stiffer at first and require more break in; maybe even the ol' shaving cream rub down trick I used to use on my horsehide baseball gloves (but check with manufacturer about this first of course - may not want the leather backing of a holster to be as soft and subtle as my baseball mitt).

I assume MTAC works exactly the same way.

I just ordered my Crossbreed so hopefully. Hopefully its the right one! Not sure how many holsters my wife will let me go through
