Stuck way down in the bottom:
Hundreds rally against police

More than 200 people gathered outside Austin Police Department headquarters Monday to protest what they said was heavy-handed enforcement at a gun show held Jan. 16 and 17.

Police officials, in an effort to stop illegal firearm sales, had urged organizers to follow a series of recommendations. H-E-B, which owned the building and the parking lot where the Texas Gun Show was held, told organizers to follow the recommendations or find another venue. Police told H-E-B officials about a possible illegal gun sale during the weekend.

But Darwin Boedeker, who owns Texas Gun Shows, said Monday that police overstepped and that he has never received a nuisance complaint.

Protesters wore gun holsters around their thighs that were filled with copies of the U.S. Constitution. Several chanted, "Stop the chief, not the gun show."

Texans for Accountable Government, Truth Seekers and the Ladies of Liberty Alliance were among the groups that called for the protest.

Boedeker said he has held shows in Austin for about 15 years and said he is looking for another venue.

I looked for this story in the printed paper. Found it buried as fourth of four briefs in the "Central Texas Digest" on page B2 of the Metro section ... disappointing

Texans for Accountable Government- This is a good source for that sort of thing, it includes issues other than gun related, too.

I should have gone, but I got off work too late. Plus, I need to get a copy of the Constitution, like they were carrying in their otherwise empty holsters.

You can go to the heritage foundation online and they will mail you pocket copies of the constitution for free. Just tell them how many you want and in a few weeks they will arrive in the mail.

In his typical fashion, Alex Jones declined an invitation to speak at this rally, then showed up with his own bullhorn and drowned out the schedule speakers.

Real piece of class, that guy.

Jones was born in Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas,[20] and grew up in the suburb of Rockwall. His father was a dentist.[21] He graduated from Anderson High School in northwest Austin, Texas in 1993. After high school he briefly attended Austin Community College.

The above is from Wikipedia's entry on him.

Rockwall County, IIRC, is the smallest
geographical county out of Texas' 254 counties.

A link wold be nice..

I went to one of their websites , the one with the free book... one, it is not secure; two, it had pictures of Limbaugh and Hannity on the front page of the website. Two of the most obnoxious Conservatives in the world. Well at least Hannity is, Limbaugh sometimes makes sense.

Tell me where I can buy one, boost the economy, ya know!

That's the site I ordered mine from yesterday. You're right, its not secure, but since the book is free, you don't enter anything but your name and address - and you could always use a fake name if you're really concerned.
