Can I get some opinions about this gun for some people please? I want a semi-22 to practice with for the cheapness of ammo but I have seen a few bad comments here and there and just want to see what some owners think.

Also any recommendations on AK47's likes, dislikes, good, bad, UGLY.

I like mine. It is easy to shoot and is accurate. It is finicky about what ammunition is used.

I have a Browning Buckmark that I use for 22 shooting. It is extremely accurate and not finicky about ammunition. I use this gun for Turkey shoots - that is how I paid for it.

Mine is a 5" model and has been good to me. It is reliable and consistent. It feeds everything I give it and cycles properly.

I like it because it operates in SA mode similar to my carry gun (though, the safety is slide-mounted and therefore backwards). It is DA/SA, but does not have a decocker, so you can leave it cocked with the safety on. It is good for plinking around and doing running and gunning drills at the range for cheap. For that purpose, it's great. It's also good for introducing new shooters at the range.

What it is not:

- A target pistol. The sights are 3-dot combat sights. They do not lend themselves to very precise shots.
- A distance shooter. As the sights are large and blocky, you're going to have a tough time getting it in a specific spot consistently. I don't shoot more than 10 yards or so with mine.

That said, I've been very happy with it. It will feed and cycle light subsonic loads all the way up to Aguila SuperMaximums without fail. They also come with threaded barrels, if you are ever interested in putting a suppressor on one.

As some have noted, they are a small pain to break down and clean. This is more so the case with the 5" model, as there is a extension block/weight that affixes to the barrel that has to be taken off with allen wrenches before breaking down the gun the rest of the way. The grip is somewhat small as well. If you have large hands, it may not grip comfortably for you. I know this is a small issue for me, but I purchased mine primarily for new shooters, not for me, and so it's fine for my purposes. It's a good idea to get a magazine that lacks the finger extension for when large-handed folks shoot it, as it tends to get in the way and make the grip awkward. Magazines seem to be readily available for the gun.

I bought one on a whim at the gun show and compared to my 10 year old browning buckmark its not near as nice.

As was stated its finicky about the ammo it likes and its not as accurate as the browning

I agree that the P22 is not as accurate as my Buckmark but I don't have any trouble hitting an 6" circle consistently at 20-25 yards with it.

It is fun to shoot and lends itself well to holster work not to mention it is really cool looking.

I have a Colt .22 pistol, and have shot friends' Walther P22 and a Browning Buckmark. Of the three, I like the BuckMark the best. The Walther was fussy about ammo, and the grip was a bit small. The Colt isn't as accurate as the Browning.

I had one. It worked very well with the Acadamy Remington $15/brick ammo.

I didn't care for it because it was too small for my hands and I already have small hands. They should have made it a tad larger.

btw. I read in this months NRA magazine that the Walther .380 bug gun uses the same lower as the P22. I may have mis-read it but it seems like that is what they were saying.

I got the one with the 5 inch barrel and compensator, dang thing came off and I lost the screw that went in it.
Ordered the 3.4 Barrel.
Inaccurate, not a long distance or target shooter.
It's a pain to clean
Too small for my hands
It can be ammo picky, found Quality ammo leads to less failure to feeds ect.
I hate the sights, they are cheap plastic and tend to come off easy if you have a holster ( Ihave a leather Pocket Holster)
For the price I could have gotten a .22 Rifle or a Kahr CCW
I worry that the Metal slide will wear out the Plastic lower.

I have the 5" model and love it. Never had any problems with it.

i would like to pick one up myself, but i love the buckmark and it chews up anything i feed it. i dont want to deal with a gun thats picky with ammo.

I have one and really like it. Not the most accurate pistol but fun for plinking. Put a real suppressor on it and it would be super tacticool.

My friend owns one and it runs good on all ammo, my Dad has one and he loves it. I also have a SIg Mosquito, Buckmark, and Ruger 22/45. I prefer the Buckmark over the 22/45, and the Walther P22 over the Mosquito. The Buckmark is more accurate than the P22. The Ruger and the Buckmark have the same accuracy and same length barrels. The Mosquito I think is more accurate than the P22 but is so finicky about ammo I can stand to shoot it.

The P22 is a fun plinker but not an incredibly accurate target pistol.

I like mine and although I've heard about these things being picky about ammo, I have never had any problems with any ammo ive put through mine. I bought mine to give my son something to learn pistols with. It has done the job. I do agree with the above posters though that it's not all that accurate but it is a really fun plinking gun and I recommend using any type of gun like this for teaching pistol shooting to newbies. It's a great tool for that!!!

It had some neat stuff and features (Like a Scope but you cant hit jack with it anyway)

I love our P22. It doesn't get shot much. We bought it to save money on ammo and have used it on the plate rack at PSC. Our's is reasonably accurate, not as good as our other guns, but we can knock down plates without a problem. The guy told us what kind of ammo to use when we bought it and he was right....the Remington Thunderbolts...never had a problem.
