Guys,

I finally tried out a Kangaroo holster today in church; it really felt great with my Bersa UC9, and concealed very well with my skinny frame. I borrowed it from a bulkier friend who might get the next size up. I think I'm gonna' try to talk him out of it.

I have one somewhere. I only used it a few times. It never felt secure and even fell out one time at home when I bent half way over to pick something up. That spooked me and I never wore it again.

Embalmo, have you considered a shoulder holster as an alternative?

"Felt like wearing a bra!"...I don't know if that's good or bad.

The only thing I don't like about the Kangaroo holster is it has to be worn
under a buttoned up shirt that can hinder your draw as opposed to a shoulder rig
that can be worn under a jacket or unbuttoned shirt with a t-shirt underneath.

And just HOW do you know what it feels like to wear a bra? Inquiring minds want to know!

Isn't a Kangaroo holster - a shoulder holster?

Or, is it something akin to, but not a, shoulder holster?

I'm interested in getting a shoulder holster and in which styles, or mfg to avoid.

Is my perception wrong or are the leather ones VERY bulky as say compared to an OWB holster?

It would seem that shoulder holsters, considering the extra leather for a spare magazine, are enormous overall and require a lot of cover garment.

Again, maybe I'm wrong...

Same idea, but not a traditional shoulder holster. Here's a pic of the Kangaroo holster (beard not included)...

A tip that I learned is to replace a couple of the buttons with snaps or velcro to make it easier to access the gun (sew the buttons back on of course). 5.11 also makes dress shirts with the same concept--I have a couple and they don't look different from any other dress shirt.

Abraham, sorry about any confusion my question elicited, but I was referring to "traditional" leather shoulder holsters. I wear one frequently, and it conceals fairly well. You just have to get used to a different way of doing things. I still haven't figured out summer wear yet for sure, although I do own a "shoot me first" type fishing vest and have tested it with the shoulder holster, and it does work well. So shorts and a t-shirt with the vest would work unless it was just too hot.

I personally find shoulder holster carry to be very comfortable, and just like with a belt holster, after a while you're not really aware that it is there. Although I like carrying on my belt, either IWB or OWB, there are days where it is just too painful to do so due to back problems. On those days, shoulder holster carry keeps me armed with more than a little pocket pistol.

Nah-This works under the shirt and if I'm wearing a jacket, I can take it off.

Everything is a compromise when carrying concealed, but I think one can open (or tear) one button as fast as lifting a shirt for IWB carry, and one button can be left open. I find reaching in and cross drawing very natural and comfortable. It certainly seems easier than a "tucked" IWB, but I have no experience with them.
