The above link is a picture of the firearms for sale during the week of 2/14/10-2/20/10.
Hopefully someone is looking for something here.
You can't get a new gun for much cheaper than the $199.99 Rossi revolver.

Just an FYI my BIL bought his mother a Rossi 38 for home use.
And it has been sent back to the factory twice already, once was the day after purchase.
I know you are not supposed to dry fire them but he DF once and the firing pin broke, after 4-6 week wait to get it back from factory he took his mother to the range to get accustomed to the pistol and after a half box was spent the firing pin broke again.
At last I knew he was still waiting on them to get it back to him.
Over all you get what you pay for.
Just my $.02

I once owned the Rossi revolver and it was a workhorse! If I was in the market for a wheelie, I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up again!
Edited to add: YMMV

Well, we have one thumbs up and one thumbs down on the same gun.
I picked one up and handled it at Academy. The one thing that gave
me a little pause was that the cylinder seemed rather stiff and did not
spin easily, but I figured that putting some rounds through it would free
it up.
IIRC, Rossi is owned by Taurus, and Taurus makes reliable revolvers,
so I would think a Rossi would generally be OK.

You're right. According to
http://www.rossiusa.com/history.cfm, Taurus bought them out in 1997 to manufacture their handguns. I own a Taurus revolver (Taurus 626 Tracker in .357 Magnum) in addition to a Taurus PT145 and I've put roughly 1000 rounds through both of them with no problems whatsoever. I have heard some people disparage Taurus, but I've never had a problem with them. They're not bad weapons for the money.

The Rossi revolvers I handled had horrible triggers but at half the price of a Smith it might be a good spare.

I just left Academy. They still have the Taurus PT101 for $299. I'm not looking for a .40 cal, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted everytime I see it in the case. I wish they'd run the PT92AF SS for $299. I might not be able to walk away from that one.

They make after market springs for the Rossi revos that will really lighten them up.

I went in a few Academy stores yesterday and they did have the PT92 for $299.00. I was just in a pawn shop twenty minutes before and they wanted $420 for a used one. I laughed...

I have a recent purchase of a S&W 442 snub J-frame. Absolutely love it. It is just right for its purpose.
That cheap Rossi is tempting for, if nothing else, a spare gun for the truck.
Alas, I try .... try to space some time in between gun purchases. My wife encourages that practice..

That's where I keep my Taurus revolver...in my truck.

Then you need to buy her that pink Taurus.
