I don't think you will be disappointed. Be sure and check out
http://www.p64resource.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for all sorts of good info on the P64. IMHO, they are the most under-rated, under-valued pistol on the surplus market. Be sure and purchase a Wolf spring kit for the pistol (J&G has them). I put the 19# hammer spring and 22# recoil spring in mine. I didn't care for the extremely light (3#) SA trigger pull so I made my own trigger return spring from stiffer piano wire than was used in the original. Now my DA pull is about 12# or so and SA pull is about 6#. Recoil is snappy.

That's the best deal I've seen in a LONG time! The CZ-82 isn't bad either.
Hope to see a range report after you've had a chance to go shoot it!

There will be a range report for sure!
I am hoping I like this one, I would like to get a nice collection of older weapons, I like the history behind them.
I think it was a fairly good deal on the p64, we shall see!

y'all need to stop telling me about these great deals on these cool pistols.
I just ordered one...should be here by Monday I'd guess.
I forgot who it was that said it, but I'll tell the wife "I got a magazine for $20, and had them include the add-on pistol package for $139 more!"

Well I went and picked her up today! Very happy with how she looks, much better then any I have seen at the gun shows, I think it will clean up very nice!
1977 production, matching serial numbers on the mag and weapon. Does anyone have anything to say about using WD40 and brake cleaner to clean all the Cosmolean off?

You can use WD-40, but be SURE you get all the WD40 residue off as it will sort of "carmelize" and gum up the works. The best stuff I've found for cosmoline is Mineral Spirits. Detail strip the pistol (see
http://www.p64resource.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for information) and put all the parts in a tub of Mineral Spirits. Swish around and scrub with a toothbrush. Reassemble and re-lube. IMO, using this method is the safest way to get cosmoline off.

Well, I got it today. 1974 production. Stinks of Cosmo! lol
But the trigger...yowza, that has got to go. It's insane how much weight is required to pull that puppy. What is it? A 30lb spring?
I like the fit and finish...I think I'll give her a good cleaning this weekend and pop off the two boxes of Mak ammo I picked up @ Academy.

Yes, that DA trigger is a mite heavy, isn't it? I put a 19# main spring in mine and a 22# recoil spring. I also made my own trigger return spring out of heavier gauge music wire to improve the SA trigger pull. The DA pull is now about 12# and the SA pull is 6#. Its no target pistol, but its very acceptable and a good, reliable carry pistol. I think you'll find recoil to be snappy. The Hogue Jr slip-on grips fit and help reduce felt recoil.
