I know little about the Texas Concealed Carry Institute so I can't give any endorsements or criticisms. However, there are a couple of top quality instructors in the north Dallas areas that I highly recommend.

This is where I did my CHL course, Phil and his Budy both active LEO were my CHL instructors. Great CHL course, and real "expo" for all Concealed Carry gear will be presented. You can buy CC gear on the spot too. They will do all the CHL papers on the spot too. You need only to mail it. Highly recommended.

I was also thinking about Gary Ruth in McKinney; for those of you who have taken a renewal class, what does it consist of? Also, I have a family member who is going to take the initial certification; where does Gary Ruth do his range qualification at? Thanks again for the replies.

I spoke with Gary and got the info; range qual is at Dallas Pistol Club and renewals have the range qual and exam requirement.
