I'm back with another review request!

Academy has the Heritage Rough Rider .22 revolver (interchangeable cylinders - LR and Mag) for $170 this week. Anyone out there have one? Do you like it? Or should I pass? The kids (9 and 7) are bugging me for a .22 handgun to shoot, and I thought this may be a good starting point.

I have one I paid about that from AJC. Great little gun, mine shoots a bit low and left, non adjustable sights and all. But neat for plinking in the backyard with Super Colibri or 22 shorts. And it's made in Florida, how anyone can make a gun for that these days is beyond me.

I have one, shoots and works well. The only thing I don't like about it is the fiber optic front sight just looks out of place on a single action revolver.

I bought one well-used a couple years ago, to shoot CB caps in the backyard.
I had obviously been shot a lot, and mostly magnums, judging by the cylinders.
Mine had the Millet adjustable sights, which I highly recommend. The pistol was accurate.
I did have a problem early on when the cylinder started advancing incorrectly. It would roll forward, then rock back, out of time.
Turned out the cylinder hand had come apart. New part was $8, and I used Colt instructions to change it out. Worked fine aftr that.

Frame is aluminum, or at least the model I had. The finish was basically paint, but it held up fine.
Good gun for the money, but I'd pay a little more and get a Ruger Single Six used.
The Ruger will last a lifetime, where the Heritage probably would not.

Thanks for the info. This one (at least the one in the ad) doesn't have a fiber optic or adjustable sight. I may bebop on by this week just to see if one calls out to me. I don't want a throw away gun, but with my budget the way it is now, I could swing this now and save for the Ruger Single Six much more easily in a year or so.
