So I've decided to give this a try. Anyone with experience on this? I like how you can retain all the Gen 3 parts while increase regidity and a 1911 angle type back straps. I will report back when I pick this up and run a few rounds through it.

There is alot of information concerning this frame for Glocks on the different blogs. I would SUGGEST that you do that homework first. From what I have read, great intial idea but most had lots and lots of problems.

Well, I've read about them from Glock Talk. It seems that the initial batch had problems with the locking block. This has been fixed with a supplied locking block. Other than that, mostly positive reviews from the GockTalkers.

I considered doing this also but for the price of the grip you could sell the Glock add the cost of the grip to it and get a nice 1911. I'm not a Glock hater or a 1911 purist but the grip angle of the Glock is my least favorite of all my handguns.

Well, I've considered getting a Gen4 Glock, but
1) I hate the Gen 4 roll mark on the slide
2) Enough parts on the Gen 4 are different from the Gen 3 where getting spare parts may be a pickle (at least for now)
3) Kinda want a G22C as well.
I think this is a good compromise. I get most of the features on a Gen 4 with only a minor penalty in weight. Plus it has optional backstrap to simulate the 1911 grip angle.
I also have a couple 1911 in the works. So no worries there.

I have never shot one, but would love to. Give me a shout when you get it in and we can spend an afternoon on the plates :)

Finally came in last night and transferred all the parts out of the polymer frame to it.
I'll take this alternative over the Gen 4 any day.

Pros:
1911 Grip angle if so choose.
Little to no flexing of the frame compared to its polymer counterpart.
Improve trigger due to stiffer frame.
Cons:
A bit heavier than polymer (This could be a Pro as well)
Price - for the price, you could get a forged 1911 frame
Probably going to Marksman to check this out on Friday.
