I have a quick question for you CHL folks (I don't have mine yet so I'm not included

).
If you are carrying, and you go to a friends house who may not necessarily like the idea of guns in the house, but doesn't know you have one. Should you tell them that you have one? Do you need permission to have it? Or, is it a situation where it is legal until asked to remove it?
Thanks guys.

You are not required, in Texas, to tell a private property owner that you are armed.
If they give you verbal notice NOT to carry there, then you are in violation if you do.
I don't tell folks.

kauboy,
You asked a question about the law, and received an accurate answer. Maybe I should leave it alone, but I had concerns about this same issue from the viewpont of courtesy, not law, and asked about it on this Forum.
If you search for a post titled "Carry at other people's homes" you will find the thread. A lot of people gave good advice and information and it helped me out a lot.
Regards,
Andrew
