Does anyone have any good advice on STI ?? I have several Kimbers and wonder how they compare. I am thinking about adding a all steel 9mm STI to the collection.

Thanks, Norman

I have owned several Kimbers. One at present. Never shot a STI. Have held a couple. Over the yrs Kimber has developed a few reliability problems. I have never had the first trouble w/ one of mine.
I have never had any first hand knowledge of problems from STI owners.

I have owned several Kimbers & have one now.
If I needed another 1911 & an STI & a Kimber were both on the table, today, I would pick up the STI.
I am not opposed to buying another Kimber but will want to shoot it first to verify reliability.
I would consider an STI reliable to start with.

Plus STIs are made in TX (except for a couple models)

I agree w/ LT. I currently own 2 Kimbers and love both of them. No problems and more
accurate than I am. However, I have had the opportunity to shoot a STI Escort .45acp
and I really liked it too. I like the STI's. The models I would be interested in are made in Tx.
So, if I was looking to buy today, I'd go with a STI. (probably will in the future).
