Do you load it with the good stuff or the BGs coming into your house can get what a target would get?
I just got my first shotgun (Mossberg JIC) and the ammo range from $5-$6/box to $50/box.
any help will be appreciated.

Bird shot won't go through your walls as easy as 00.

I personally load my Rem 870 with 12 g. Slug and 00 alternating.

When I had my shotgun collection, I had one I used for S.D. and it had #1 buck in it.

00 Buck. Although I'm interested in the new defense load: large round ball, plus a few 00 buck.

Home defense shotgun? I don't have one...

...my son, who lives with us, does — a Mossberg 590 Special Purpose 12 guage stoked with 00 buckshot.

Personally, I keep an AR handy with 2 20 round magazines.

...and a .45.

I feel pretty bad for the eejit that tries to break into our house at night. NOT!!!

Moss 590 & 00 Buck

Mossberg 500 with Federal Tactical Flite Control reduced recoil 00 buck.

Slugs are Remington reduced recoil 1 oz.

I have no problem using full power slugs and buck I just don't enjoy it as much.

Saiga 12 with a 10 round magazine loaded with 000 buck 3" magnums and one more in the chamber. I have a shell holder attached to the stock with 6 slugs. I sleep well at night.

3 @000 Buck followed by 3 Hollowpoint Slugs. In both guns.

Ditto on #4 buck.

I have the same type set up (Ghost Rings as well)...

I have 7+4 of 00 Buck, and 2 Slugs just in case....

It depends usually............right now I have Winchester's Supreme magnum buckshot in my 870, 2 3/4" and some 3" magnum round buckshot as well.

I also have 5 2 3/4" 7/8oz slugs as well.
