I took my new lcp out for the first time. I only had one box of ammo and that took me a month to find. So yesterday I got to the range loaded 6 in the mag and one in the pipe. I only had one failure to feed on the third shot of the first mag which I attribute to the gun needing to break in. I did give the gun a good scrubbing before i shot it. Recoil was quite snappy but nothing unmanageable. The gun tended to slam into the webbing inbetween the thumb and index finger but wasent painful. The wwb accuracy was up to par at 7 yards for a small defencive pistol I was quite supprised at the accuracy actually with the almost non existing sights. I did also shoot 14 rounds of speer gold dots wich functioned flawless. So far looks like i found a nice carry piece if I would ever get out of the two hated word stage " processing application".

Nice carry piece, yes. Hope it's not your primary carry piece though.
It seems like these convenient mouse guns are making it easy for those of us that carry to get lazy and stop carrying real guns when possible.

I am in the market for a mouse gun too, but only plan on carrying every now and then when carrying a Glock isn't possible or feasible.

I would URGE you to find another 4-5 boxes of ammo and run those through it before carrying it. I decided to have 300 consecutive perfect rounds fired with no malfunction to prove up my Kahr P380. Luckily it only took 300 rds... :) That was my standard...just make sure you chose something where you are positive it will work.

Put a Hogue Handall Jr rubber grip on that LCP (you will have to trim it some) and it will feel a lot better. Not only easier to hold but absorbs some of the recoil.

I don't right now, my daughter has a digital camera and I have been wanting to take some gun porn and show my stash and mods on forums, so may have to do that.

On the KT P3AT, the TCP and LCP, put the grip on UPSIDE DOWN. Inside it will be stamped "This way" or "top".... but reverse it or the finger grove will be jammed so near the underside of the gun as to not be usable. It looks pretty nice with it on actually. They also fit great on the Taurus 709. The 709 is larger, so you may need to soak the grip in hot water first to soften it a tad before slipping it on.

I am looking at a Ruger LCP and tempted to go get it today if the Gun Shop still has it. I have a Glock 33 that is ok when wearing a coat or jacket but even with a IWB it shows the grip under my shirt tail.
I used to use my old S&W 380 but its old and ready for retirement.I have already ordered a Crossbreed Mini-Tuck for the LCP since it takes a while.The LCP should ride nice under T-Shirt tail which is what i wear most of the time.I have about 400 rounds of .380 thats a few years old i can break it in with until i can find some Hornady Critical Defense ammo.

Check out the Taurus TCP before you decide on LCP. I have both, and really prefer the TCP... the trigger is lighter, it costs less, has a slide lock that stays back on its own (you have to manually engage it on the LCP). Both are great for what they are intended.

TAM...what gun is that? Not an LCP but should give him the general idea. The handall jr will have only one finger groove though.

I am not going to slam the LCP as I have one, and carry it. The info. regarding grips above are very interesting, and I plan to investigate further.

Just as an aside, you should take a look at the Smith & Wesson site for the new 'Bodyguard' line coming out in May. Built in laser sights, looks very good.

Put a Crimson Trace Laser on it and you'll see serious accuracy.

Yes, but S&W's last attempt at a small 380 was less than stellar. I too have the LCP, bought it prior to my TCP. You can't go wrong either way.

Let's start a new thread on this topic (please) because this is precisely what's happening with me. I'm discouraged to carry my Glock 26 now that I've proven amazing accuracy & comfort with my Ruger LCP. I may be able to carry the G26 IWB in my M-Tac holster, but it is much more inconvenient to put on & take off all the time - and while somewhat comfortable, it certainly is nowhere close to the comfort, convenience, & stealthness of pocket-carrying the LCP 100%.

Am I really at a tremendous disadvantage by carrying the LCP over the Glock 26?

Just to get the topic going - only disadvantages I see are: 1) 3 less round capacity, 2) less presentation value (i.e., beefy Glock vs. mini-mouse) - although I think I gain some points back with laser "I mean businesss" showing, 3) .380 vs. 9mm stopping/penetration power, and 3) Reliability (although this last point hasn't proven a difference for me - as no failures thus far - even in break-in period).
