My wife and I were at Academy looking at their guns. They had the Taurus Mill. Pro .40 for $339. I believe. I have been looking at a more concealable CCW than my XD40. I was thinking of the Glock 27 to switch to, but it is $589. the Taurus looks tempting. I know that the Glock is a much better gun but has any of ya'll had any luck with the Taurus Mill. Pro line?

I've had no problems with my PT145. But some don't like them.

I originally bought my pT140 about two years ago. Immediatley after getting it, the magazines began falling out while shooting it. I called customer service and they told me that I would have to send the gun back in, or they would send me a new mag catch and I could replace it. I went with the latter, and installed it myself. Since then, 1,000 + rounds I have had no jams, accept one time i had a mag with a weak spring that would not push up the 3rd or fourth round enough, but I did isolate it to that specific mag. I also like the double strike capability and have used it twice on dud rounds that went off on the 2nd or 3rd, trigger pull. I say get one and a crossbreed supertuck and your good to go.

I have a PT145 (the .45 ACP version of basically the same pistol) and have never had any problems with mine. The trigger takes a little getting used to, if you're not used to DAO. However, it's still a great concealed carry pistol for the money. I say go for it.

that cash to a SuperTuck, or get multiple rigs for
different wardrobe days.

It seems that if you switch to a PT140, you're not getting
that much smaller than an XD. I like my Taurus, but an
XD would be finer.

Thanks for your and everybody's input. I'm new to the CCW world and I truely appreciate the help.

I did order the supertuck and a belt for my XD about 2 weeks ago. Haven't received them yet. Perhaps I'm jumping the gun (no pun intended) with the concealability of the XD. Perhaps I'm afraid of printing. I got it about 4 yrs ago for home defense not carry in mind. As the Houston summer approaches I know in need a summer carry. I don't think I can conceal the XD in shorts and a tank-top. I did read in a post lastnight reminding me of the versitility of the snubby. So. TODAY I'm thinking of looking at a .38 + P for my summer carry. I'm feeling a bit confused, indecisive, and overwhelmed!! He he he.

Although I don't own it anymore (traded for an XD40) it was a great gun. Never jammed, had over 1000 rounds through it.

Yes USA1, it is great!! Endless possibilities....now I know what my wife feels like picking out a pair of shoes.

I have PT140 Mil-Pro, had the mag drop problems one call to customer service explained to the young lady she had me a new Mag release and spring sent out. I was off the phone with her in less than 5 minutes and had the spring in 3 days no problems since. The gun is accurate, concealable, and fits my hand, all that is necessary for a carry defensive weapon.

I think a lot of Taurus problems are exagerated in relation to other brands thanks to the multiple posts on different forums and the fact that many people are snobs about bargain brands. Search problems and any brand and model you will find issues as long as things are made by men there will be problems.

For summer style carry, I do prefer my Kahrs the single stacks just disappear under any teeshirt IWB (even white ones) where the Taurus tends to print a little more the tradeoff in firepower means I carry 2 spare mags instead of one with the Taurus.
