Prayer for family friend: UPDATE

Troy and Beverly were a young couple who lived next to us for a few years before moving to Wyoming. They have a young child, a girl around 5 years old. We got this email from her yesterday and I'm asking for your prayers in helping her overcome this challenge:
I'm a firm believer that you can never have enough people praying for you. Selfishly, I have a special prayer request for my family. I've been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. This will be a shock to most as it was to us. After many months in and out of the hospital in Billings and Denver, the Doctors finally came up with this diagnosis. I'm having surgery next week, the 15th in Billings. If operable, they will perform what's called a "Whipple Surgery" and I'll be in the hospital for about 10 days. Although it's a long, risky surgery....this is what we're praying for because this will mean it has not spread. If they find it's spread, they will not perform the surgery and we'll go from there. I'm optimistic that everything will go well and know with your prayers, God will take care of us.
Thanks and God Bless!
Beverly
I firmly believe in the power of faith and prayer in these situations. My own wife beat breast cancer in her mid-thirties and we completely give credit to God, and to the many who prayed for us, for that miracle. Please pray for Beverly's victory over this challenge.

Yes, I'll pray for them.
Be sure to "doctor shop". Don't take the word of the first joker to make a diagnosis and treatment recommendation. Specifically, if you're going to do chemo, be sure to ask what the dose is. Most American doctors will go for maximum dose chemo. This will not leave any of your own immune system left to fight the cancer. The chemo will kill your own immune system. Many German doctors will do minimum dose chemo, which is the smallest dose to have any effect at all. For slow growth tumors, some doctors will opt out of radiation and chemo altogether. Ask the doctor if they've determined the growth rate of the tumor. Large tumors are slow growth, usually, while metastasized tiny tumors everywhere are usually fast growth tumors. If it took over a year or more to get to where it is today, then it is a slow growth tumor. In other words, if it hasn't killed you for years, it's probably not going to kill you any time soon. Ask about minimal invasive surgery techniques. Not all doctors will be able to do this. It is a very difficult procedure requiring a high degree of skill. Remember, there is no manual dexterity test to get into medical school.
If you can afford the $30,000.00+ USD price tag and 2 to 3 week cancer clinic stay, go get your treatment in Germany. Former president Ronald Reagan got his cancer treated in Germany. If you cannot afford this, then be sure to doctor shop and ask plenty of questions. Many doctors will have an egotistical mighty doctor syndrome and get quite perturbed if you doctor shop, so if possible, don't let them know that you're doctor shopping. You have every right to doctor shop. Remember, it's YOUR life on the line, not theirs.
Do this soon, before Obamacare takes effect or you will find yourself FORCED to take the "lowest cost provider", even if it means you're stepping into a death trap!
I forget the address and phone, but if you PM me, I'll dig up the German clinic info for you. Some clinics are in the German alps with swimming pools and hiking trails on premises with a gorgeous view of the alps. Every day, you'll be served fresh organic non-carcinogenic and detoxifying food while you're being massaged pool slide by Swedish masseurs. American doctors just focus on the drugs/radiation/surgery, but many German doctors will also focus on how to eat and live healthy to avoid another cancer in the future.

I want to thank everyone on behalf of Beverly and her family for your prayers. We got word today that while the doctors did find a cancer in her pancreas, the doctors were confident that they were able to remove it all. The family hopes to learn more when the pathology report is prepared this week.
Since we don't completely know the prognosis or other possible procedures from this point forward, please pray that Beverly is fully and completely cancer free.
