Does Taste of Texas in Houston have a 30.06 posting?

I've heard it through the grapevine that Taste of Texas steakhouse in Houston off of I-10 and beltway-8 on he west side has a 30.06 sign. It's owned by Ed Hindey. (who I also heard has a CHL).
Does he need to be added to the 30.06 blacklist?

There is a big thread on this here

Supposedly he said on a radio show that he doesn't want folks carrying in his restaurant, but I think someone said is it not posted.

and that was 2 years ago. My dad just heard it said on the radio yesterday by a caller that Hendee has a 30.06 posted on his restarurant to keep CHLers out.
Dad actually called to ask me how a .30.06 rifle posted can legally keep CHLers out

I explained that what they were refering to was the statute number in the Texas law that is coincidentally also a rifle caliber.
We both agreed that if it was posted, we would never eat there again. We'll be going to Sam Houston Steamboat Steakhouse just up beltway 8 near the racetrack. A better steakhouse anyway IMO

I know Ed personally and cannot imagine this to be true. I've eaten there dozens of times before carrying and never noticed a sign. I haven't gone since getting my CHL last Fall though.
Knowing their family like I do, and his values and beliefs, I'd be shocked if this was true.

Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. He said it was posted. That's good enough for me.

Agreed. There are plenty of steak houses in Houston, I'll pick a different one.

I recommend Texas Steamboat Steakhouse over off Beltway 8 near the racetrack

My curiosity is up enough to make me look to drive on by there. I work about 3 miles away and used to eat there about 2-3 times a week back in the heyday of when people took me to lunch every day

. I also know Edd and I really cannot see him having a 30.06 sign up.
I think its time to leave work early right now and head over.

I am standing in front of Taste of Texas right now. There is no 30.06. There is a note from the TABC on the inside wall that unlicensed posession is a felony. But that is all. Carry away and eat well my friends!

I wonder what would possess him to say on the radio that his restaurants are posted? Listening to the radio clip, there is no way to misinterpret what he said.

Hey the youtube link isn't working for me. Internet explorer cannot download it and it's asking me if I want to save it or open it like I'm downloading an AVI file and saying it's a Shockwaveflash file. It say's it's unavailable or cannot be found.

I agree. The foyer has so much stuff on the walls I don't know if there's a sign up there, or maybe somewhere else in the restaurant.
I do know what he said, and there are many places I'd rather eat in that price range, so I won't risk it.

Well.....if it (30.06) is not clearly visible to the public...then it is not legally binding according to the law.
But anyway, I don't the smug attitude he seemed to illustrate in that video clip.

That radio spot was from about 2 years ago. Perhaps he has changed his mind about that just as many other businesses have when confronted about what a 30.06 really means to their business and their safety.
I stood in the foyer there and read through the signs. No 30.06 was there. Lots of awards though
