Um. Have you heard of http://www.texas3006.com/?

I'm also really confused about some of the questions on the page, like: "Did you OC?"

Open carry will currently get you sent to jail in Texas.

Cool!

Since DFW (Tarrant and Dallas Counties Combined) have almost as many CHLs, we need one too! :txflag:

I think Texas 30.06 site is plenty good and multiple sites will lead to confusion. Obviously the Gunburger site started in Arizona and the operator has no idea how much misinformation trying to run a national clearinghouse of anti/pro gunsites will generate and need to be cleaned up or interpreted.

:iagree:

Visited the site and, I'm afraid to say, it pales in utility to http://www.texas3006.com/.

Russell's Texas3006 is self-contained, specific to Texas CHL, and running on a private SQL database.

Gunburger seems to use a public Google database, of all things. And it isn't Texas-specific; it seems to be trying to encompass multiple states simultaneously...and it seems to be promoting the OC issue that was so divisive among us prior to the last Texas legislative session.

I contribute entries to Texas3006, but I'm in no way eager to do the same in the Googlesphere. And, frankly, I'm a bit suspect about the Gunburger affiliation with the OC faction.

This looks like a solution in search of a problem.

:iagree: as well. Good point.

Did you OC or CCW?
(To carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol, you must CCW))
"rlol"

I can't take this site seriously after reading the first page.

Yep, I'm gonna CCW my weapon w/ my Class A LTCF. Luckily have a grandfathered "large capacity ammunition feeding device" (aka hi-cap "clip"). Then I'll be heading to my local ABC store to pick up some vodka. Hope they don't "proof" me or I'll have to show my State Liquor ID even though I'm 43. Don't forget you guys with with a Target/Premises permit better not be walking around with your pistol. Only Class A "all lawful purposes" licenses are good for 'dat.

I didnt see how either website was all that user friendly. The Gunburger site looks more like a threat to establishments than a resource for information. This is my opinion of threats and boycotts about company policy. If in Texas out of the 20+million folks that live here 15 million had CHL's, threats to not do business there might work, however, when your talking about 300,000 CHLs throughout one of the largest states in the Union people who own businesses dont care. I would look at one of these sites as an information resource rather than pushing an agenda. I can assure you very few business owners are waking up this morning saying "wow that gunberger site has killed our business time to take the 30.06 sign down" doesnt work that way. Percentage wise it doesnt even make sense. Out of the 300,000 CHLs only a small percentage of them would even look at the Gunberger site lets say maybe 10% so thats possibly 30,000 CHLs in Texas actually look at it. Now lets say 30% of those actually follow the guides of where to go thats 9000 CHL's, now lets say 20% of those dont want to fight with the wife over her favorite place to eat so they go there anyway the numbers are miniscual to push a political agenda. Now spread those numbers over 268,000 square miles it has absolutely very little impact. Gunburger needs to be a resource of information but threatenging to do an on site inspection? Please if I owned a business I would give them the old Uncle Teddy Camoflauge Finger Sign.

And to clarify my post doesnt mean that CHL's dont need to be proactive, I just dont believe in boycotts or threats, the only time I have ever seen a boycott really work was with the Dixie Chicks and they picked the wrong demographic at the absolute worst time to make a polar opposite public opinion that went against the grain of 90% of their fans. Each to their own! Basically the Dixie Chicks might as well been a grocery store that ran ads during primetime that stated everything in the store was food poisoned.

If you didnt open carry then just mark no. Its not all that hard to figure out. In some states where OC is allowed then you can mark yes. Its a blank templet to get the site up and running and to start getting information.
And I re-read the page..what questions are you confused about.

Instead of ripping a website for a few small errors and a few people trying to do some good work for the 2nd amendment and our right to carry, you guys are sure eager to trash someone elses work and belittle the effort that some people have given.
Its people like you that will be the death of most of our rights. Instead of taking a stand and doing whatever you can to help promote the education and protection of our rights, you take the same amount of time out to destroy.
You all should be ashamed.
If you think that some other site is just the do-all end-all of information, then great. Sorry that someone else that has taken his own time and money to help further educate and protect the rights that we have to fight for every day and that are trying to be taken away from us wasn't up to your high expectations.
All you have done is further chip away at the very right's that you claim to protect.
Guess it was too hard to just send a email or something that would educate and help the gunburger website to be another outlet of information that could help in our cause.
