so I was looking at lasers for my keltec. I found the popular crimson trace and the cheap armalaser.

Anyone heard good/bad of either? The armalaser is larger but boasts a longer warranty, brighter/longer laser, and sturdier fitting with drop tested reliability. Its cheaper too. But then I think "get what you pay for."

any thoughts.

i have a keltec p32 with an arma laser on it and it works well you can read my "controversial" thread called "finally had to draw" about how it worked but IMHO its worked out great and i have no problems with it usually i would say "you get what you pay for" which is usually true, but then again you and i both own a keltec soooooooo.....its a good deal

i did actually read that thread. interesting situation.

I like the slimness of the crimson, but it does "look" cheaper. If every little bump will move the accuracy of the laser, then Im not interested.

Crimson Trace lasers are plenty sturdy. And if you ever do have a problem, their CS is outstanding. Plus they give 1 set of batteries per year free for life.

I'm holding off untill crimson trace offers a green laser grip.
I'm get a viridian if it didn't require a new holster.

I talked to CT about this and they said they have not been able to get a green laser in the same form factor (size) as their red ones so they don't anticipate one any time soon. That's why all of the other ones on the market are so big.

I'm a huge fan of green lasers but at distances that handguns that would be deployed, red is plenty visible, even in broad daylight.

A green laser is MUCH brighter and easier to see, especially in daylight. I have one for my AR and can easily see it from 100 yards away. I can't even see my red one at 40 yards in daylight.

If you want to see the difference, stop by the Asian guy's table with Longhorn Tactical at the Ft Worth gun show this weekend. The difference in visibility is amazing.

It also has to do with the color spectrum and how much closer green is to the center of that spectrum allowing our eyes to more easily detect it, red is near the end of that spectrum. Red is alot closer to IR(invisible) on the scale than green is....yadda yadda yadda, scientific junk, yadda yadda yadda.....somethin like that.

do you have the CT on the p3at?

im sure CT are great on most handguns, but the one for the p3at basically is double sided taped on. not exactly the quality i expect for $150+.

think i'll save the CT's for my glock.
