I can't tell you how many times I've wondered about something CHL related (or even just gun related) and did a search here to have my question answered.
Today was just another example. I picked up a Mossy 500 and it didn't take me long to run into the infamous "wooden dowel in the magazine tube". After a bit of head scratching I came here and did a quick search. Sure enough, there was the answer in plain English.
This is just one example out of many. You guys and gals just plain rock.

I couldn't agree more.
Thanks to Mr.Cotton and all of the Moderators for running a first class site.
And a special thanks to all of the members who contribute
and put up with me.

I just found some holster recommendations earlier this week for my new compact; nice to hear first hand reviews and troubleshooting for different products.

I would like to thank the moderators and Mr Cotton for the running of the site, but mostly I thank all the members who have recieved their plastic and continued to stay here and answer questions and get the rest of us through this ordeal of obtaining our plastic.

There is indeed a "wealth of information here right at your fingertips, and a wonderful bunch of guys & gals to get to know".
Thank you Charles for conceiving this board. Thank you Mods for keeping it friendly. And thank YOU forum members for your contributions!

The thing that impresses me (beyond the excellent answers always received) is the 'staying power'... there's a vast amount of experience here, that's well moderated (thanks guys & ladies), and full of just plain good people. We don't have to all see eye-to-eye on every issue but the people here seem to always be respectful of opposing views and opinions.

Here's another thumbs up from another satisfied customer.
When I found out from a friend, how doable it was to get my plastic and
start carrying, I went right out and took the class.
Then I realized that although I had taken the CHL class,
had my plastic, and then got my gun, I realized that I had no
actual idea of what the CHL experience was like.
Hanging out here will definitely help out everyone in many areas:
Legal details of CHL law, dressing options, various rigs, pros/cons
of certain firearms, LEO stops, ammo discussions, 2A court cases, etc.
It just goes on and on. After hanging out here for 14 months, I
feel so much better about my place in a CHL world.
Since having a CHL can be a "guilty pleasure" in this world full
of enough "anti's" to spoil your day, it's great to come here and
blather about any gun issues we feel like.
Thank you Charles Cotton, all the moderators, and fellow forum
members, even those of you who don't think pearl grips are nice. :-)

When I was a very little girl, about 3-4 years old, I had a Mighty Wonder Horse, white cowboy hat, and a matched pair of "revolvers" that fired the rolled red gunpowder caps. (anyone else remember those?

the loud "pop" and smell of burnt gunpowder made them seem more "real.")
My plastic cap guns were styled with a shiny "nickeled" finish and faux pearl grips, just like the good guys in the B&W TV westerns used. "Hi yo Silver! Away!" "Happy trails to you!" Oh, yes, I rode into many an imagined sunset with those revolvers tucked into the holsters on my belt.
So now, of course, when I see a nickeled revolver with pearl grips, my first thought is, "Hey! that looks just like my old plastic cap guns!"
Which means I have a hard time taking plastic...er, nickel and pearl seriously...

New to CHL (less than half a month) and have found this site to be VERY informative and the group to be unlike most forums that you go to.
Most people here seem to be "Normal" to me.
There are a bunch of crazies on the world wide web, but this site seems to be an island of sanity, thoughtfull discussion, and downright good info. Even disagreements seem to have respect on either side.
