Anyone ever heard of this or know anyone that applies it to 1911s?

I picked up a gun magazine this weekend and read about the new C&S Trident. This gun is almost exaclty like mine. Different brands on the parts but all in all its the same concept. I have been wanting to put a new finish on mine and really like the idea of the Fail Zero.

I have no direct experience with nickel-boron, but lots of experience with nickel-phosphorous electroless plating. It is hard and wear-resistant, quite adherent if the substrate is properly prepared, and highly corrosion-resistant.

I think you are on the right track if you want low maintenance, low friction, good looks. But! I've never personally used it.
