SAXET San Antonio Show?

Well, another thread reports that the gun show running now in Austin is sorely disappointing, so I was wondering how the SAXET show in San Antonio is these days?

I've never attended the one down there, but I have a reason to drive down to San Antonio in the not-too-distant future, and with a flexible schedule, figured I'd time my trip to coincide with the Saxet show, and maybe kill a few hours there.

So . . . is the San Antonio SAXET show worth going to?

I always liked going to the SAXET show when it was at the Freeman Coliseum downtown. Haven't been to it since the beginning of the year when they changed venues to the San Antonio Event Center. I hear it's still a big show, and a friend of mine went to the last one and said he saw some things he was tempted by, but I also hear that parking is a big problem. The Event Center doesn't have near the parking capacity that the Coliseum has and I've heard of people having trouble finding spots and people being towed for parking in other lots belonging to neighboring businesses. Other than that it still seems to be a decent show (again, from what I've heard. Like I said I haven't been to one at this location yet this year.)

I was able to attend one SAXET show in San Antonio recently, and I'd rate it as a good show. Packed full of vendors, I saw what looked to be fair prices on guns and ammo, with the occasional over-priced table. Lots of custom knifemakers at the show.

The major drawback is parking. There is not nearly enough room for parking for that event.

Overall it's a really enjoyable show.
