OK, so it wasn't a Wally walk.

We just completed a 5300-mile trip, recognizing the most restrictive laws on our route: Unloaded and inaccessible (wanna guess where we were?). Half of the states we went through have carry licenses available, but do not recognize Texas', so we didn't risk it.

For our first time armed on a trip (and we've been traveling most of our lives), we think we did OK. ;-)
Our awareness was about the same (high), but nothing unusual occurred.

Since I am planning a trip in the not too distant future and I've been doing a lot of reading, do tell. I bet it wasn't up in the NE end of the country.

Correct, it was well to the west (we two are mountain people from birth).
