The link above is to page 2 of this week's Academy ad, with photos.

Smith and Wesson Sigma's in 9MM or .40.
(Are these ever NOT on sale?).

Browning Buck Mark Camper .22 LR. 5.5" barrel, 10 rounds.
This could be a nice plinker or an intro gun for new shooters.

Yildiz 12 or 20 gauge o/u shotgun, 28" barrel.

Happy shopping.

If they paid me to take one home, I'd consider it ;-)

i figured. 300 sounded a little cheap, but i keep looking for deals. seems that a while back, academy mis-printed an ad and some folks got a really good deal on a pistol. make and price escapes me. but they honored the advertised price. thanks for the input. that, again, is why i love this board. thanks, texaschlforum.com :cheers2:

I have the Sigma 9mm. but they are just about the same weapon, with 1 obvious difference of .40 vs 9.

it is a very accurate weapon, and for the price it cant be beat I dont think.

the issue that I am finding (which is why I don't shoot it anymore) is that the grip is simply too big around to get a good feel of the weapon.
if the grip fits your hand, I think it is a good weapon to shoot.

fire1141:

The general rap against the SW Sigma is that the trigger pull
is very heavy. Some folks see this as an advantage during a
self defense encounter. Most folks don't like a heavy trigger.

The really good SW is the M & P (Military and Police) line, but of
course you have to pay to play. It's more money, but it's a much
better handgun.

The deal which you are recalling is probably when Academy
had the Taurus PT-101 on sale for $299.99. This is a .40 caliber
semi-auto with a capacity of <16 +1?>. IMHO, this is a better
value than a Sigma.

Thanks for the info. I carry and love, probably more than anyone should, my xd. I just want to build my collection and saw s&w, and thought for $300; I should ask. Thanks again.
