Charges likely to be dismissed. Could this be a precedent? Is it legal to carry a loaded gun in plain sight? Have the traveling laws changed without me hearing about it? This may be good, this may be bad, at least the rights to carry may be expanded if this is determined to be acceptable..
When deputies came back to the car, they noticed that Brown and Gatewood still were asleep. The handgun was in Brown's lap.

Balagia has said Gatewood legally owned the gun, and he's confident the weapons charge against Brown also will be dismissed.

I think becuase there were drugs involved the traveling rule would be void. Its not plain view at night in the back seat. I t also does not describe the condition of the weapon, was it in a case or locked and loaded in his lap. Media is too vague about that.

Regardless, its another sad event for the Longhorns.

Hope he doesn't go down the same path as Rickey Williams.
