Looks like it happened in the parking lot after an argument.

It doesn't say they were going to attend services. It sounds like they just picked a known spot to meet. Could've just as well been the WalMart parking lot.
Hopefully the shooter will be in custody before he hurts anyone else.

For a long time, women especially, have thought that if you meet in a public place that it would be safe if the estranged partner got mad & wanted to get violent. (they wont do anything in public) This cannot be farther from the truth in this day. The last thing that happened in one of those places that I go when I would be there was a shooting just about like this. It started when the mad boyfriend caused a disturbance at the hospital where she worked. I had been making hospital visits there & been gone about 30 minutes. Security had told him to leave the property & if he returned he would be arrested for trespass. He went home, called her, set a meeting at the storage building parking lot about four city blocks from our church, he shot & killed her and her son. No doubt in my mind he was armed at the hospital. (Yes Mrs Brady criminals take guns to hospitals & break that law too.)
Could have just as easily started shooting at the hospital or been the church lot He picked to meet at. Broad daylight & mid afternoon when it started. Later I spent time w/ the security guard over the usual self blame issues.
"Why didn't I have him arrested then?"
I should have done something.
Why didn't I see it coming?
There is no good side of town anymore. There is danger everywhere. Awareness is #1 training is #2.

I am not for sure. The young man in my Church is an Arena Football player and he asked prayer for his family tonight and told the story. I had heard it on the radio, but have not seen it on TV.

They may not have been attending the church, but things like this are exactly why I always carry at church - I work full time at my church, and I believe that my responsibility to watch over the flock goes beyond just the spiritual things.

It was my understanding she was parking to attend Church. My Church has a busy location and we are always having people park on the parking lot to talk, car pool, etc. . . The Church parking lot becomes a public lot at times.

I carry at church too, although many people think I'm paranoid. (I've always felt that you're not paranoid if they're really out to get you!)
You never know where something might happen. I'm glad my tool is there if I need it.

Your not paranoid. If you ever want to drive 125 miles to Church you will be well received at ours.

You won't be the only lady there armed & peaceful.
