I used quite a bit of information from GunFacts.info in building
ProtestEasyGunsLIES.com. It's a few years old (perhaps a tad dated) but still very relevant.

One that I ran across recently: "heavily armed and highly trained secret service agents couldn't keep Reagan from getting shot, so what do you think you're going to be able to do with just a pistol?"
My response would be along the lines of pointing out that Dale Earnhardt was one of the most skilled drivers in the country, wearing a helmet and a 5-point harness in a heavily reinforced car when he was killed in a wreck, so am I wasting my time and effort to put on a 3-point harness whenever I get in a car?

Concealed handgun license holders don't carry guns in order to prevent assassination attempts. As President John F. Kennedy said less than a month before he was assassinated, "All a man needs is a willingness to trade his life for mine." Concealed carry is meant to protect against simple assaults, sexual assaults, robberies, shooting sprees, and that sort of thing, not targeted assassinations. If you think you may be the target of an assassination attempt, you need to hire a security detail.
