New to me - 4th gen Glock 22

Picked this up in a trade the other day. So far, I'm really pleased. I really, really prefer the 4th gen over the 3rd gen now. The grip texture is very nice and not too harsh like the first attempt at RTF. The removable backstraps are a plus. I found that "small" configuration fits me best. No longer feels like a Glock in the hand (blocky). If I had to do a blind test, I wouldn't have been able to tell you it was a Glock (accept maybe the grip angle might give it away). I'm hoping the 4th gen Glock 26 comes out soon because I will be upgrading from my 3rd gen as soon as it does.
Haven't made it to the range yet, but plan to do so in the next couple of weeks.
BTW, the light I have on it is a cheapo NcStar light I picked up for $20. Surprisingly, it works very well and is pretty bright.

wow! It even says 4th gen on the slide! I want another glock, but I think I'll shy away from the .40, as I can barely shoot mine...

Yes, that is very important because there are some 3rd gens that were produced with RTF that people are confusing for 4th gens. You can tell the 4th gen from the slide, the configurable backstrap, the mag release button, and the recoil spring.
Also, the mags for the 4th gen Glocks are different as well. Since the mag release button can be switched, the mags are now marked as "9" and have notches on both sides.
OH, and I completely forgot to mention. The mag release button is a HUGE improvement. You no longer have to rotate the gun in your hand to release the mag. The button is much larger and you can release the mag from your normal grip.

Very nice, I have the Gen3. I also have an NCstar cheapo light similar to yours but with a laser as well. it was something like $65.00. The light is super bright and the laser actually reaches out a good 100 yards plus, not bad for the money.

With that news it looks like I can wait til the Gen4 19 comes out!

I have a G4 Glock 22...my favorite handgun. I used it for CHL proficiency testing and I will use it as my carry weapon if I can successfully conceal it.
It goes bang every time I pull the trigger no matter what I feed it and it shoots where I point it. It ain't pretty, but it is a joy to shoot.

Somebody get a rope.
Seriously though, I have a Gen4 Glock 17 and love it. Want a Gen4 Glock 22, but need to wait to get a little more cash first.
BTW: The slides are labeled "Gen4" so that people don't mistakenly try to put one on a Gen3 assembly -- it won't work (and vice versa).

You don't have everybody telling you that it is not a pretty gun? I get it all of the time. I can run mine through the dishwasher, bury it, freeze it and it will still shoot. I don't know many other manufacturers that can make that claim. The 1911 shooters are the worse about calling it an ugly gun.
