I have been looking around at different holsters, one of the holsters I plan on ordering is kydex.
now the question I have, is if I leave my gun/kydex holster in the car while at work. will I run into any problems with the holster from being in the hot car for so long? may be a silly question but just wanted to make sure before I plan out my carrying options.

Crossbreed Holsters suggests to not leave your kydex holsters in a car for any period of time.
The heat needed to reshape it is much less that the heat that your car could have in it.
So leave your weapon in your car, but your holster on your body, or in your locker/desk/other.

I agree, it does'nt take much to soften Kydex. Leaving it in a hot car will most likely disfigure your holster, it can be reshaped but why go through the trouble?

I've had kydex holsters for several years now and haven't had any problems with them being left in the center console, out of direct sunlight, for several hours. The gun was in the holster, so I don't know if this made a difference or not.

I can't imagine that it'll harm the holster. I've left several of my kydex holsters (for different guns) in my range bag in the back of my Chevy Avalanche with no ill effects. You can always ping several of the many kydex manufacturers to get their opinions.

Does your dashboard change shape when left in the sun?
It's a holster guys, not a candy bar.

If you look at the main page of Com-Tac's website they have a warning at the top talking about the heat in your car deforming your kydex holsters. Don't have much experience myself and I don't know if maybe they are trying to cover thier rears but I guess I would rather be safe than sorry if it was a more expensive holster.
