The link says its SA/DA but it looks just like any single action 1911 so I think thats a misprint, if its not then the gun is something to be avoided. According to my google-fu its a identical to the new firestorm guns in every way except the roll mark, if thats the case its probably a good shooting gun.

At that price, I'd love to give one a try....looks like the Citadel I was just posting about in another thread.
Maybe once we get moved, and things settle down....I don't think it would be fair to ask my marriage to support another gun right now

Normally I'd agree with you...but Mrs. cbunt1 has been pretty understanding lately about my purchases--even the "impulse buy" I did a few weeks ago...

I've really got my eyes set on an STI but if I were to buy a "bargain" 1911 I have a feeling I may lean more towards this as opposed to that Remington R1.
Just my opinion.

The gun looks pretty good except for the front
edge of the mag's butt plate, which looks like
it would be more prone to snagging during a draw.

I've got an Ultra Compact 9 and a Thunder .380 and wouldn't trade them for anything. I prefer the SA/DA because I can cock it when I draw it or pull the trigger quickly and have the first round DA. From what I've read and experienced, the only compromise on a Bersa is the finish. I've heard of their possible unreliable past, but I'm concerned about today. Bottom line: If it's got the Bersa name on it, and I have money, I'll buy it.

Looks can be deceiving. I did some Googling of the Bersa/Firestorm "1911" it appears to be the latest re-incarnation of the Llama .45. The Llama was
NOT a true 1911 some parts interchange some have to be fitted some were Llama parts. The guns weren't very durable I have read many horror stories of them falling apart while being shot.

If you want a 1911 and are on a budget buy an RIA.

As for the Firestorm "Caveat Emptor."

That is a standard 1911 bumper pad I have them on many of my 1911 mags - - - no grief, no drama.

The new firestorm is not the same as the old firestorm, I have handled one of the new ones and its true to spec.
