Time to bite the bullet

I've stood it just as long as a man ought to have to and have decided it's time to make a move. I'm talkin about my next purchase of course. I've been thinking for a while now about which new gun I'd really like to have for most every day carry. I thought for a while I wanted one of the Kimber Pro models but was reluctant because of it's size. I've finally decided on the Ultra with a LCP for secondary.
So my question is where and which is the best place to start looking for a good price. I've never purchased a firearm online so I'm not really aware of the best Kimber selection and prices from reliable FFL's. Not that I would be opposed to purchasing locally by any means if the price including tax was competitive. Are there any dealers in the DFW area who can and/or will be able to come close to online prices?
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not asking you guys to do my homework for me but if you have any experience or suggestions that would help I'd appreciate your sharing with me. Also, I'm certainly not opposed to buying a very good slightly used Kimber Ultra if any of you have one you're thinking of parting with.
I'm located west of Fort Worth about an hour but I wouldn't be opposed to my wife and I making a day trip somewhere for a good prospect FTF.
Thanks in advance for your time,
Jerry

I personally have bought and sold many firearms online and have been very fortunate never to have any problems. The last one I bought was my present ccw which is a XDsc 40 and I bought it from Bud's Guns and it was 439 shipped and 10 xfer fee thru my FFL. I couldn't come close to that price locally or anywhere else online. I'm all for online purchases and gives you a lot more versatility in selection. Good luck with your purchase!

Might try online place Budsgunshop.com but i found out a local shop is Kimber dealer and picked up a Crimson Ultra Carry for $980. I also carry a LCP sometimes but not both.
I saw the Kimber at a local gun show here and just fell in lust with it...had to have one.The Gun Show price was $1300...but on the way home the Gun Shop had it.

Check out this one...

Bud's has good prices, but you have to have it shipped to FFL and pay shipping and local FFL transfer fees.
Closest place in DFW area for good prices is sportingarms.com in Lewisville.
Best to figure out what you want and then order thru them by phone as they do not always have their website up to date as far as availability goes. Then just pick it up, transfer included in price!

Just do a best price search on the computer and of course find a gun shop willing to accept it. It will cost u 30 dollars to have it shipped to a Federal Licensed dealer. I have a CDP just like the one above but in a Pro. Im in McKinney if you want to shoot it ill let you try it, There is a place out here called the Bullet Trap we could go.

Thanks Mr Keith, I used to have occasion to get up that way pretty often. I have a friend who's a pastor in Frisco, perhaps I need to pay him a visit one of these days soon. I'd love to meet ya and it'd be a pleasure to get to shoot with you at the range. I'll let you know if I can set it up it the near future. Again, many thanks for your offer and help.

+1 for Sporting Arms. I've purchased three rifles and a pistol from them, and the pistol was a Kimber Pro Raptor. Their prices are pretty decent on Kimbers, but being a smaller dealer, they operate on a thinner margin than larger stocking dealers, so there's less room for bargaining. On the other hand, their customer service is first rate. I always enjoy going there to buy a gun.
I've also seen pretty decent prices on Kimbers at the Fort Worth gunshow.
Also, Euless Guns & Ammo occasionally has a good price on a Kimber.
