One tip I picked up from the Tru-Glo web sight marketing is their fiber optics can't be seen from the bad guy's view.
I'm going to have to verify if that holds true for the ATS sights? (or, if it doesn't, is such a "disadvantage" terribly significant...?)
Truglo sights don't emit light, but rather collect it and channel it through the optical fibre
(except the ones which also have the tritium, which emit a little)(but is a bad guy's vision good enough to see the tiny tritium dots on glowing sites?)
The ATS sights aren't Fibre Optic nor Tritium. They emit no light to be seen from a bad guy's view either.
They are flourescent insert colored sights, on your side only.
You really need to see them in person to appreciate them
You may see them and not like them, but I put them on my guns and won't go back to tiny sights I can't see in all lighting conditions.

The large florescent inserts of the ATS can be clearly seen and easily acquired in diminished ambient light where fiber optic sights cease to glow. In addition, in diminished ambient light, the ATS can be seen and quickly acquired where tritium “night sights” still need more darkened environments to clearly glow. The ATS inserts are not susceptible to the uneven lighting of light charged glow painted sights, the breakage associated with delicate fiber optics, or the loss of effective brightness of aging tritium sights. The ATS is the most visible iron sight available when approaching a suspect’s car at night. With the lights of the patrol car behind the officer and as the officer approaches the suspect’s car, the ATS will stand out like a beacon. Tritium sights fade in this situation.
Like I said, I want to find the FRONT sight fast, and line it up with the rear FAST
I've tried all colors (user changeable) and the bright orange rear with BRIGHT yellow front is quickest to line up and see in all lighting conditions, unlike the harder to locate quickly red front combination shown Below

These are NOT "glow in the datk" sights, but you can make a triangle in the dark, even backlit, quicker than I can line up 3 dots I can't even see when they are backlit. When in the dark or VERY low light,
when there is backlighting you won't see color due to your eyes, rods/cones etc ... but you can still make a triangle, even if it appears to be an all black triangle (shooting out a floodlight/spotlight/lightbulb/backlit object standing in a doorway/window while you are in a dark room/alley).
I switched from being a long-time glow in the dark user to these a couple years ago, and love them.
The sloped edges prevent snags on clothing etc too, but you can use the rear sight to rack the slide on a shoe/belt/holster/corner of a building/table etc too if you need to clear a jam one-handed.

I really need to take some photos of my setup with orange rear yellow front and post them some day, front site is instantly findable against any color background/lighting. The photo above shows yellow rear.
