I'm sure this is small potatoes to some of you, but it's big-time for me!

This past weekend, I ordered a Hi-Point 9mm carbine from Buds and had it shipped to Ammo Depot (outside of Caddo Mills). UPS delivered it today, so I went to pick it up after work.

Any time you get a new gun it's a good day, but it got even better.

I had a great time visiting with Mickey & Sonny and wound up walking out with not only my new rifle, but a new RIA 1911A1. Also picked up 100 rounds to start breaking that bad boy in.

I've never even fired a 1911 before. I've always wanted to shoot and own one. I have a lot of learning to do.

For anyone who can, making the drive out to Ammo Depot won't disappoint. Even if you don't buy anything the first time, they're true "good old boy" gun nuts. I didn't even know the place existed until I took my CHL class there. I've been back several times since to buy ammo & such but this is the first time I've bought a gun there.

Is your RIA the GI style or "Tactical" model? Its a nice gun, I used to own a Goverment size GI style RIA, but someone I know needed a good, low cost, and dependable gun so I let them have it cheap. They still have it to this day and its solid as a rock (Pun intended).

It's the GI model. I could've bought one of their more expensive guns (including Kimber), but I wanted just the basics to learn with.

Good choice. I should also point out that I own a compact tactical model that I still have, but I think the GI style government sized gun was the most fun to shoot.

An address won't help very much, but here's the website: http://www.mickeysammodepot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Down on the bottom right hand corner of the page is a "Click here for map" link to Google Maps.

The store isn't exactly where the map shoes, but it's close. The store actually sits on the Southeast corner of FM 36 and Co Rd 2224.

Basically, go east on I-30 and get off at the FM 36 exit (exit 85) and continue east through the intersection on the service road until you see the sign for a RIGHT turn to FM 36. You'll see a building with a white roof and that's it.

The title caught my attention. I wanted to know a good reason for not being married any more.

---Other than the obvious ones.

Maybe because after she saw the invoice, she'd shoot him with it?
