Is this place a school (Autism treatment center)?

If somebody can send me the law's definition of school, I'd appreciate it.

I'm driving the mom of my son's classmate there to visit her child. I believe the visitation would occur not during instructional hours and in his group home. I don't want to call the center because I don't want to possibly antagonize the mother's relationship with the center.

I guess when in doubt, I probably shouldn't carry. But I also don't like leaving my gun in the car in an unknown neighborhood. Thanks for your help.

If there was one, we would send it. But I don't think the legislature has ever defined what is and is not a school.

If Mr. Cotton pops in, he may have a more definitive answer for you.

From the website;

Autism is a treatable disorder and early childhood intervention is encouraged. ATC’s Zajicek Learning Center is approved by Texas Education Agency

I believe that it being approved by the TEA will be the key in whether or not one would be prosecuted for carrying there.

They also receive funding from school districts.

Thanks for your replies.
The part that kind of confused me was that this place also doubles as a group home, visitation location, etc. But I think I'll lock the gun in the car.
Thanks.
