Open Carry in Maine

My open carry tourism continues...

A fledgling OC group in Maine, MOCA (Maine Open Carry Association) held a trash pickup last Saturday in Sanford, ME. The SPD had drawn on a clean cut, 20 something, white guy out running errands while OC, and subsequent email communication with the SPD chief had revealed a very negative attitude towards citizens exercising their 2A rights, and a promise to treat all OCers in the future the same way.

So I met up with about 13 other guys and 2 women to spend a couple of hours performing some community service in Sanford, all open carrying. There was an SPD cruiser that would drive by every 20 minutes or so, but never stopped. Had some pleasant chats w. the residents, nothing exciting.

Emboldened by that experience, I've been open carrying in Naples & Raymond since then with absolutely nothing exciting happening, either.

I'm starting to like this! It's very strange, but very uneventful. The latter two towns are tourist areas, so I wasn't sure if I'd generate much attention.

It has to be a very weird feeling to OC! And more so, to see others doing it.

I enjoy open carrying. It is one thing I'll miss after moving to Texas.
