Questions about the AR Red Dot Sights

I'm finding fairly good reviews on this. Anyone mess with one? Just bought a S&W M&P Carbine AR, optics ready, and now I'm a bit cash poor. I'd love an ACOG, but not yet. I was planning to use this a bit on my AR, and then move it to an AK-74 when I can get some decent glass for my AR. So..anyone try one yet? Yeah, it does look alot like an ACOG knockoff, but no worse than LCP knocking off the P3AT ;-)
Anyone know of something better in a comparable price range?

After looking at recommendations on inexpensive red dot scopes, I ended up getting a Vortex Strikefire for my AR .22 upper.

I haven't gotten a chance to take it to the range yet, but it seems very solid and the optics are pretty good--not as good as the EoTech I have on the 5.56 upper, but I didn't expect it to be for 1/3rd the price.

Well, the vortex strikefire was my second option. Both the strikefire and this bushnell, (going for about 150 each respectively) and I think it was a toss up. Supposedly, the bushnell is better quality, but the Vortex had a much better warranty. Decision...decisions..

I don't know about that model, but after buying a 6-24x50 for my bull barrel gun, I'm a believer.
Great scope for a C-note.

I have the Bushnell, it looks exactly the same. It is more of a "T" dot than a red dot, mine has both red and green illuminated T's. It works well, just do not forget to turn it off.... I used up 2 batteries before the brain finally got engaged........ It was on an AR, now it sits on a Sig 522.......

Is this your home defense rifle? If you plan to use it in a house dont get an acog. Get an aimpoint or eotech. You dont want a magnified optic in close quarters. You can buy a magnifier for longer distances.

Lowonair, just going to put it on my first AR, will probably put a trijicon on it later, move this to an AK74 shortly.

I tried to find a direct link to the sight I'm rockin on my Sig but they are updating thier web page. The one I have looks like the one in the lower right hand corner.

It looks like an ACOG knockoff too but I really like it and once sighted in it works really well.
I got mine at a Dallas Market Hall gun show for 90.00.

Now, here are the goodies!!

The reticle is adjustable in strength/brightness(1-7) and it still very visible during the middle of the day when on 4-7.

Per Lowonair's point, I have a C-More Railway that I've been using on my Stag L1 and have found it ideal.

Sadly, I've gotten an itch to see if I can make it co-witness while keeping the carry handle (in defiance of the manufacturer's specs) and, having gone through a few carry handle mounts, am about to try a quad rail (that I got a great deal on over on the Fal Files). I suspect that I may be on a hiding to nothing...
