Undersized and invalid 30.06 signs

I was just wondering about all of the businesses that have been spotted with invalid 30.06 signs. Most companies purchase signs and legal notices from a supplier and simply trust them to make a sign that meets the proper regulations. They generally don't design and print the signs themselves.
Now I know that the sign can be just right (block letters, correct language, etc) and still be posted out of the way and be invalid. But where are these businesses getting signs with the correct wording but with letters smaller than 1"? Who is selling them to the businesses?
Either the supplier is unintentionally selling a product that, legally, does not pass muster. Or perhaps the print shop owner is a 2A supporter.

Just about all the signs I've seen have been the stick on letters on glass. My guess is that they're just sending the text of what they want to the company that does their window decals who sizes it according to the area the business wants it to fit in. They're probably not buying a pre-made sign. I couldn't even find anyone selling a 30.06 in a quick google search just now.

My guess would be a local sign company (Fast Signs, etc). I tried a google-fu search for 30.06 signage (to buy) and found nothing as well.

Yeah, it looks like it may be more custom that I supposed. I did find a few with generic language - including this one:
http://www.vcgstore.com/f27948/product. ... t=0&page=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But I could find any stock with 30.06 specific language.

That is an interesting statement.
Would you be able to find out how they came to that conclusion? Were concealed carriers revealing that they were carrying?
I am not trying to be petty, but it has aroused my curiosity.

I found this interesting. I just googled "buy no weapons sign" and look at the links that pop up, and take a moment to read the propoganda within those links ..
http://www.mysecuritysign.com/MSS/No-Weapons-Signs.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.myparkingsign.com/MPS/No_Gun ... Signs.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.mydoorsign.com/Door-Signs/No ... lowed.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It would appear that all three of these links are to the same sign company (same phone number at top right of each page - they must be paying a lof money for Google placement). Anyway, lines like these in their propoganda really make me laugh:
A No Weapons Sign and a bold graphic gives a stern warning that violence is not tolerated
A bold sign is one of the strongest security statements you can make. Our signs deliver long-lasting, impossible-to-ignore results.
A clear sign keeps firearms away.
And PLEASE don't write to or call this company and tell them that they're wrong. Let the morons who refuse to follow the actual LAW on signage continue to live in their blissful ignorance.

Signage always is an interesting topic on here. I must admit that I look fairly closely at the signs to see if they meet the specifications set forth for them, but I also try to consider the spirit in which the sign is posted. If its on a piece of cardboard stuck in the bottom of a window that I have to crane my neck and squint my eyes to see, I simply don't see it. If it is large and imposing, obviously posted with intent, then I certainly take that into consideration. I'm not going to quibble with any owner/manager over what is an inch and what is 15/16 of an inch. Their intent is fairly obvious and I will not go there. They lost my business. They guy down the road will get my money. I won't mention it to them, either. They have no business knowing or assuming that I may be armed.
A red 51% is a different matter. That is supposedly a matter of law, relating to their percentage of sales of alcohol for on premises consumption. The store doesn't have a choice in the matter. A 30.06 IS a choice others make. I will make my choices accordingly.....

Are they really "wrong," AR? This company appears to be located in Brooklyn, NY, according to the mailing address. Area code 718 is a NY City code.

People don't have CHLs in Brooklyn. All three links that austinrealtor posted have similar, if not identical, signs. They must all buy them from the sign mafia.

I have all of the design software to create these things. I'd have to farm out the actual fabrication to a sign company, but maybe I should sell a "purposely defective" 30.06 sign?
You know: lettering too small, incorrect wording, maybe even put some "ghost" type in there (ie - this sign is not legally binding, CHL's may carry at will), etc.
I know, I know, I wouldn't do that...guess I'm feeling naughty today....but it would give me GREAT pleasure in taking money from folks who I vehemently DISAGREE with....

Too late, I already did, some time ago, pointing out that none of their signs were valid under TX law. They replied that they would be glad to make custom signage for me. I think they missed the point.

Well they appear to sell these signs nationwide, so yeah they're "wrong" when sold to businesses in Texas (and likely elsewhere, but I don't know the other states' laws that well).

Texas has its own 30.06 sign which, I believe, is unique to Texas.
The other states do their own thing. Czech it out
