Can anyone help me out here?

I've found several pages outlining the places a CHL'er cannot go by default, and multiple mentionings of places that are "posted," but I can't seem to find what sign I will be looking for in a couple weeks.

Also, since I may have been pulled over once or twice in Colorado, I should probably ask, do I need to proved my CHL along with ID? I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I'm also pretty sure I will do so anyways (knock on wood). I would like to know the answer for sure, though.

You tell them what state issued your permit, you can add in non-resident permits if you want, then it loads a map of the U.S. You click on the states you'll be traveling through and click on the "Finish" button, and it gives you a list of links to the CCW rules for each of those states, and any other pertinent information.

I guess what I'm getting at is, do gunbuster signs prohibiting concealed carrying mean anything? It seems like they do, but none of those sites mention it.

The city of Denver posted "no guns" signs at the city parks, but the State ordered them removed. Denver police are known to look for reasons to arrest you for disturbing the peace if you open carry, even though Colorado is an open carry state. The various cities that abut and are surounded by Denver do not act that way. No need to show CHP or CHL during a traffic stop, but I intend to if and when stopped. Generally, the Sheriffs in the mountain counties won't give you any trouble. The Sheriffs are the issuers of the CHPs in Colorado, as you by now already know. Counties operate and maintain firing ranges for their training. Since these ranges are funded by taxes, they are open free to the public. I use one of them regularly.

There are signs at entrances to federal goverment offices, where by law they are required to man a metal detector and provide for checking and returning your weapon. Police stations and court houses have manned metal detectors but require you to remove the weapon from the building. I leave it in the car. I open carry only in the wilderness areas. Don't want to "freak out" anyone in the more public places. Since you by now have read the law, you can see that the state is much less restrictive than Texas as to where you can carry concealed weapons if you have a permit. I won't list them.
