No need for customers to disarm but why not spend your money with a more tolerant company?

What statue does that sign reference I can't find it, but I would assume this sign can't stop a valid CHL.

I'm not shopping there. They are way over priced. Was just walking by and saw it.

That is part of the old TX Penal 30.06 evidently they are a bit confused on posting their property.
new Penal code says:(3) "Written communication" means:
(A) a card or other document on which is written language identical to the following: "Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by holder of license to carry a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Article 4413(29ee), Revised Statutes (concealed handgun law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun"; or
(B) a sign posted on the property that:
(i) includes the language described by Paragraph (A) in both English and Spanish;
(b) For purposes of this section, a person receives notice if the owner of the property or someone with apparent authority to act for the owner provides notice to the person by oral or written communication.
(c) In this section:
(1) "Entry" has the meaning assigned by Section 30.05(b).
(2) "License holder" has the meaning assigned by Section 46.035(f).
(3) "Written communication" means:
(A) a card or other document on which is written language identical to the following: "Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by holder of license to carry a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (concealed handgun law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun"; or
(B) a sign posted on the property that:
(i) includes the language described by Paragraph (A) in both English and Spanish;
(ii) appears in contrasting colors with block letters at least one inch in height; and
(iii) is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.

This is the first time I've seen a sign on a store directed at both employees and customers.

Wow, thats the first sign I've seen that advertises that EMPLOYEES are not allowed to carry.

So, I sent them an email:
Hello, just wanted you to know that your “no handgun” signs posted at your stores will keep me from ever shopping at your store. And, if given the opportunity, I will dissuade others as well.

I saw that sign over a year ago when shopping with the wife, she went in and I would not. She found some patio furniture that she was interested in, wanted me to come and look, the salesperson came out with her and I refused and pointed to the sign. After being told to "not worry about it" I told him to scrape them off the window and I will enter, knowing he could not do that. Personally it is the intent, not if the sign is legal or not, the intention is to keep legal people out so I have no problem spending my money else where. Principle means more to me than legalities.

So, any time you see 4413 (29ee) it is an old sign referencing a law no longer in effect. As KaiserB shows above, the Penal Code was revised to remove the reference to that repealed law.
Like a green and purple STOP sign on private parking lot, it may show their intentions or wishes, but not a crime to go past that purple and green stop sign without stopping.

What is the point in letting the business know you wont shop there because of their chl sign? if they want to keep people out then let them lose money.
