Colt Detective Special from 1984. It appears to have never been fired. The blue is deep and dark just like Colt made them. Lock up is great. I am working on getting a pair of Jim Badger Grips for it.

REALLY nice gun!

Colt revolvers from that era usually had outstandingly smooth triggers - a total pleasure to shoot.

My first handgun was a 2 1/2" bbl Python that had a super smooth action. Long ago I traded it to a gun shop owner for something else. It became his personal carry gun from that day forward.

That gun would be worth some serious money today.

Beautiful gun. My dad has a 2 1/2" bbl python he bought in 1980 that he has never fired. It just sat in the original box in his office. It is perfect. He promises to leave it to me, but he has 5 other sons, so we will see. Fortunately, I am the only one who is a gun nut! I like it so much that I actually offered to buy if from him for fair market value, but he got all suspicious that I was going to rip him off. Yeah, my dad is that way.

Great gun and pictures. I was disappointed that it wasn't posted in the Firearms section. ;-)

Pristine condition...Very nice.
Are you going to shoot it or is it going to be a collectible?

If he's getting some new Badger grips, I presume that they're not just for show. Usually guns are more collectable with their factory grips intact. But I could be wrong.

I do plan on carrying it. About the same size of a J-frame, but one extra round in the cylinder. Grips should be here I hope pretty quick.
