The performance center pistols are usually made to a higher quality standard, tighter tolerances, different finish offered, smoother or tuned trigger, better grips, better sights, and usually a really nice metal carrying case. Worth the money??? I think so as I lust after a 686SSR and a 627 performance center model. I have a Model 60 3" from the performance center and it is a noticeable step up over a standard 3" model 60 cause I have one of those too.

I was at my favorite gun store yesterday and they had a .500 Smith in the case.
Talk about a "hawg leg"!
