Anyone have any good advice about carrying while jogging. Does anyone have any good methods/equipment that might help. I carry a glock 23 with a super tuck. However, even though i have the horse hide i feel i would sweat a little too much in that holster plus i have no steady belt to carry it while on a run. I have tried a back pack and kept it in the front most pouch but man it really takes quite a bit of time to swing the back pack around and access my gun. Maybe someone else has thought out side the box to solve this problem. It should would be nice to carry on a run. thanks in advance.

I have thought about this as well. The only solution for me is to purchase a smaller gun, like a Ruger LCP or Kel-tec PF9. Something i can slip into my pocket and wont pull my shorts to the ground. I carry a glock 26 in supertuck on all other occasions. You can also check out one of those gun/fanny packs. I think maxpedition makes one.

If you are worried about sweating on your weapon, then I would go the fanny pack route. Granted the fanny pack craze of 1986 has since died out, but at least you will have your gun with you.

If you are not that concerned, then I would go with the Thunder Wear route.

Before moving to Beaumont, I was jogging 4 miles everyday, rain or shine with two extra mags and my 1911 OWB. I always wear a t-shirt to keep my weapon from touching my skin. All moisture would be merely wiped away upon return.

Would a shoulder harness be ill-advised? It seems like a great solution to me as long as it is securely against the body at the top and bottom of the gun to keep it from bouncing against you as you run. A man doesn't even need to worry about what other things he would expose should he need to lift his shirt to draw.

And in running, most people wear shorts and a large T-shirt, which means people are looking at your legs and won't think anything of a slightly baggy t-shirt. If you sweat a lot, you can put a men's tank top undershirt on underneath. Unless you're racing and are concerned about drag, I don't see how that wouldn't be problematic, but I also don't have any experience with either, either.

I carry my 642 in its Uncle Mike's holster wrapped in a shirt held in my left hand. It's really quick and easy to let go of the flap that's covering it and draw with my right hand. Granted, I also run shirtless, so it looks like I just got too sweaty or something and partially disrobed. No one has ever said anything.

Sometimes I'll take my Beretta PX4 full-size in the pocket of a Camel Back water backpack. More gun, but slower to get to, and the Camel Back just throws off my tan.

How about something like this?

Have one too. Though I've never jogged with it (if you could see my physique you would know ho redundant that statement is )

I actually have a difficult time getting my Glocks secured in it because the little strap inside is probably mean for a 1911 frame (really have to jam a Glock into this retention strap because of how much thicker the Glock frame is).

In workout clothing, I usually go with a belly band or Smart Carry for my J Frame or PM9. I actually prefer the Smart Carry because it is better at keeping sweat off of the gun. YMMV.

I'm right there with you, I need to loose about 50lbs. I plan to start biking first to help strengthen the knees, and get the bod used to exercising again.
Then start jogging.

I have an MTAC holster, and it doesn't work well at all, when I do bike.

I'm glad to hear that a full size Glock will fit into it. I have a 3rd gen G22.

I've never seen one, but there have been a few reports of coyotes in the area recently.

My jogging son would occassionally see "W" and his group jogging around Town Lake in Austin. I suppose there was very little a group like that couldn't carry. Each could carry a part of an artillary piece for quick assembly if needed.

All of my jogging shorts are loose enough to accommodate the snubbie without sweat getting on the weapon. Uncle Mike pocket holster.

However, seems it would be a touch unwieldy while jogging...with every step gravity will try to pull it down. Maybe it'd be ok with a keltek or lcp?
