"American Gun"

Has anybody seen this movie? Out of curiousity I've put it on my Netflix list. Here is Netflix's synopsis:

Tackling the controversial issue of gun ownership by weaving disparate story lines into one cohesive narrative, this ambitious drama from director Aric Avelino shares its approach with the Oscar-winning Crash. Characters include a gun store owner (Donald Sutherland) and his granddaughter (Linda Cardellini) in Virginia, a beleaguered high school principal (Forest Whitaker) in Chicago and a grieving single mother (Marcia Gay Harden) in Oregon.

Don't you just love it when gun ownership is refered to as "controversial"?

Here is a troubling quote from one on-line review:

The movie fails miserably trying to blame the lunacy of child killers and violent crime on the availability of guns.

("Anti's" !.....I'm glad that at least one viewer saw through their foolishness; but how many bought it?)

Note: This is a 2005 movie. There is another American Gun made in 2002 that is different in theme.

My review is simple. It was a boring, monocular view. Each of the gun owner's along the way were portrayed in a "dim light".
IIRC, there is no real ending, as one is left to search his or her own soul over the "evidence" presented.
