My grandfather carried the BAR in WWII, and he wants to have his photo taken with one for a book someone is writing on the subject. Do any of you have a BAR, or know someone who does, and would be willing to allow such a photo to be taken? He lives in Fort Worth, by the way.

By the way, I know there are various museums around the country that have BARs, and we haven't ruled them out. But, my grandfather is 89, and while he is quite spry, I'm trying to find a solution close to home prior to getting him on the road.

There is a Militaria show in Ft. Worth, Sep 17-19 at Amon Carter. I'll bet there will be numerous BARs there.

I have the civilian model, I received it after my grandfather passed away...It was his favorite hunting rifle...
