The Ruger SR9c can use full size SR9 17 [edit: fixed qty] round magazines. There is an adapter sleeve that slides on to make it fit better and keep you from jamming it too far in.



I am trying to figure out an non-permanent solution to keep the magazine adapter sleeve in place.

Especially for shooting at matches - I would really like to make it more solid - one piece if you will.

I am thinking about the sticky stuff that keeps new credit cards stuck to the thick paper that they get sent with. I definitely want it reversible and preferably something that will not leave a sticky residue.

This might take some experimentation. Try folding a piece of paper into a wedge, with the thickness on one end larger than the other. Place the paper wedge, larger width towards the mag plate, against the magazine and slide the adapter over the wedge.

Is the adapter fairly snug around the magazine to begin with? If so you can spray it with a little hair spray, allow it to dry, and it will become a little sticky. I use this for my mountain bike grips so they don't slide all over the place. This will work better if the adapters are rubber.

That notch towards the back, squish some sticky tack in there? Black electrical tape or cycling grip tape around the magazine plate would also be an option.

Hot glue gun

Rubber cement. Paint a little on both sides of the mag, then slide on the adapter.

It will hold like a bandit, but be easily removed & cleaned off.

It's not loose, but I wouldn't call it snug either. If I hold the mag vertically by the sleeve, the mag will slowly work its way down through the sleeve - especially if my hand moves a bit (too much coffee).

I don't know about the rubber cement. I would worry that the solvent might break down the polymer sleeve.

The hot-glue gun might work perfectly. I know that stuff comes off pretty cleanly.

I might try the paper wedge as well - that also got me thinking about using pieces of toothpicks wedged down and around!

Solvent shouldn't be a problem. Just use a gun solvent if you're undsure of what is safe for your gun. I've never seen any part made for a gun that couldn't handle some type of gun solvent being applied to it. The manufacturer would be promptly sued and put out of business if the mag extension dissolved while being cleaned
Personally, I've had good luck with double sided "carpet style" tape. If you place a little around the bottom of the magazine and slide the extension over it, it should hold firmly enough to keep anything from sliding off. Cleanup is easy if you choose to remove it. I have used a little rubbing alcohol or some acetone to clean up any trace residue left behind.

Thanks NOS. I meant I would be concerned about the solvent in the rubber cement used to keep it in it's quasi liquid state. But at closer look, it seems that in most cases that solvent is acetone. So it probably would be ok.

Drill and tap a hole in the adapter and use a small setscrew. The Glock mag adapters come this way and hold very well.
